FAFSA Support

Your First Step Toward Financial Aid

Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first and most important step in applying for financial assistance for higher education or for job placement and training programs. The Northern Cheyenne Tribal Education Department is here to guide you through the process and help ensure your information is accurate and submitted on time.

What Is FAFSA?

The FAFSA determines eligibility for federal grants, loans, and work-study programs. It is also required for most tribal, state, and institutional funding opportunities.

FAFSA Deadlines

We encourage students to submit their FAFSA as early as possible. Once processed, you will receive a FAFSA Summary showing your Student Aid Index (SAI). This document must be included in your Tribal Education application packet.

  • FAFSA opens each year on October 1
  • Early submission helps prevent processing delays and supports meeting tribal funding deadlines
