The Northern Cheyenne Tribal Education Department provides assistance to eligible tribal members pursuing vocational training, job placement, or short-term skill development. This program supports workforce readiness and self-sufficiency.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Maintain satisfactory participation and follow program guidelines
- Be enrolled members of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe
- Be accepted into an accredited vocational or technical training program
Application Deadlines
- Fall Semester / Quarter: December 1
- Winter Quarter / Spring Semester: October 1
- Summer Session: April 1
Applications and required documents must be received by the Tribal Education Department before the deadline. Faxed copies are not accepted.
Required Documents
To apply, submit the following materials:
- Completed Job Placement and Training Application
- Official high school or college transcript (or GED scores)
- Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB)
- One-page written educational goals
- One letter of reference (not from a relative)
- Acceptance letter and admissions form from the training program
- Proof of FAFSA submission and summary (SAI)
- Individual Self-Sufficiency Plan
- Needs Analysis from your school’s financial aid office
- Proof of application for other sources of funding
Short-Term Training
Short-term vocational training is available year-round. Required materials:
- Completed Self-Sufficiency Plan
- Written training request
- Total cost of training

Guidelines and Student Responsibilities
All participants must read and sign the Job Placement and Training Guidelines Acknowledgement before receiving funding. These guidelines explain student responsibilities, program compliance requirements, and conditions for continued support.
Release Forms
Students must authorize their training institution to share progress and financial information with the Tribal Education Department using the Release of Information Form.
A separate Parent/Guardian Release Form may be completed to grant family access to your student file.
Privacy Statement
The Statement of Privacy explains how personal data is collected and used under federal authority for program eligibility and accountability. Applicants must read and sign this document before submitting their applications.
